Message from Chairman of QESOSA
Dear Fellow Alumni,
I am delighted to report that for the year 2023, the operation of OSA resumed normal. Besides the Homecoming Day (25 March 2023), the Kicking-off Ceremony of Alumni Mentorship Programme (11 November 2023) and the School Camp Visit (9 December 2023), we also relaunched the Ball Game Tournaments (BGT). There were a total of 39 teams registered for the 3 ball games – volleyball, basketball and football. The matches were arranged to be held in early 2024. Our alumni finally would have the opportunity to show off their skills in the various ball games. Big thanks to members of the BGT sub-committee and all those who have put in their invaluable time and effort!
Our alumni also participated actively in the sports events of Queen Elizabeth School. At the Sports Day Final (13 October 2023) our alumni joined the 5km Run and the 4x100m Special Relay (Open). We achieved very good result in the 4x100m Special Relay, with one alumni team winning the Champion and another team the 2nd runner-up. As for the Swimming Gala (15 December 2023), two alumni teams took part in the 4x50m Special Relay, with one team winning the 1st runner-up.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Principal Chan Cheung Wai and his team. Without their support, OSA activities could not have been carried out so smoothly. In addition, my heartfelt appreciation goes to my fellow ExCo members and alumni who have contributed to the work of OSA. Your support is pivotal to the continuous growth of OSA!
Our alma mater will be celebrating its 70th Anniversary in the 2024-2025 school year. A Steering Committee has been set up with representatives from QES, QES PTA and OSA to map out the details of the QES70 celebration activities. The QES70 Gala Dinner – the highlight of the anniversary year – would be held on 23 November 2024 at Asia World Expo. Other celebration activities would include fundraising campaign, alumni talks, variety show and opening ceremony of the QES school museum. We promise to keep you posted on any updates.
I look forward to seeing you in our various QES70 celebration activities to make the anniversary year meaningful and memorable!
